Features of road accident risk assessment in vehicle transportation

Abstract

Purpose. Development of a method for assessing the risks of a traffic accident during road transport. Research methods. The "Bowtie-Buterfly" method is used, which allows to take into account all external and internal dangerous (safe) factors that can both increase and decrease the probability of a dangerous event. The "Decision Making Trial and Evaluation" (hereinafter - Dematel) method, which is based on paired comparison and decision-making tools based on graph theory, is used to rank dangerous factors. Scientific novelty. A mechanism for determining the most influential dangerous factors is proposed, which is established under the condition that the level of influence of the dangerous factor, which is obtained based on the calculation of the final impact matrix by the Dematel method, is greater than 20% of the established maximum value. Practical significance. An eight-step algorithm for calculating the risk of a traffic accident is proposed. Results. A register of dangerous factors has been developed, which includes six types of factors: human, organizational, technical, operational, social, ergonomic, and increase the likelihood of the occurrence of a dangerous traffic accident. An algorithm for assessing the professional risks of car drivers is proposed, which consists of eight main steps, the first three are devoted to the procedure of identifying hazards, dangerous factors and ranking the latter to identify factors that are the causes of the occurrence of a dangerous event and those that will be the consequences of the first. An assessment of the professional risks of the car driver was carried out, in which it was found that the main dangerous factors that affect the occurrence of a road accident are a lack of system understanding skills and decision-making skills, negligence in observing safety checks at various stages of the manipulator's work, lack of effective control over occupational safety and lack of proper pre-trip medical control of the driver's health, the elimination of which will significantly reduce the level of risk during transportation
